24th of July with Ezra

These are some pictures of us with Ezra's first 24th of July. A little late, but better than never. John was having fun playing with fire. He's holding a tiny firecracker.

Ever and Ezra watching the fireworks

Kels and I having some fun of our own.

Fish Lake

Every year my friend's family goes to Fish Lake to an equestrian campground for their family reunion. This was my second year going, but John's first year. It is so beautiful there, and having horses, you can get to places that the average hiker would never see. These pictures don't do it justice, but here's a few anyway. Mary Jane and Umber did great. It was Mary Jane's first year there too. Umber had an imersion by fire last year when we got lost at the top of a mountain and it took 8 hours and 30 miles later to get down. This year...we brought a GPS.

Shelley Family Reunion

The Shelley Reunion was in Provo, Utah this year to attend BYUs
luncheon in honor of the John Franklin Shelley visitor center, which is
inside the Gordon B. Hinckley Alumni building. The visitor's center is
named after John's great grandfather (John is named after him) and
John's grandpa, Rulon Gene Shelley, donated money to BYU in honor
of his father. John F. attended BYA (Brigham Young Academy) when it
first started. This is a picture of us on the Heber Creeper. We went on a
murder mystery that was on it. fun stuff.

Awaitin for my friend's Baby

This is me a little after midnight awaiting the arrival of my good friend's
baby. You are looking at 13 plus hours of us waiting. She went in
Friday night in labor and finally had him at 1:57 a.m Monday morning.
Tough labor and delivery, but everyone made it through okay.
Congrats to Blair and Vanessa.

Truck and Trailer

I have neglected for quite some time in putting pictures up of our truck and trailer. I have better pictures of them both, but I thought this was cute. There's John...the city cowboy.

How we spent our New Years

We went to our good friends' lodge out past Minersville. It sits on 900 acres of land...and then is surrounded by BLM land. There are two herds of wild horses that frequent the area, and lots of Elk. The last time we were there, we ran right into a herd of elk while we were 4 wheelin...they are huge. We were closer than I would have liked to have been. It was 6 degrees at night, and 16 degrees during the day. But we had a lot of fun with all of us being young marrieds. We brought in the New Year by going out in that great 6 degree weather with our guns and shooting bunnies. ;-) I'll have to post more pics of the lodge some time. We go about twice a year. It's great, has 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. Lots of fun.
